A century ago, on this day, the battle commenced. In the forthcoming book, Time Jigsaw Awakening, 1916 is one of the timelines. Indeed, one of the book’s characters, is involved in the battle. Homage is paid to him, and other military personnel.

I was born in Edinburgh and resided in the capital's historic Royal Mile.
